HORN-DOG- Last night I presented a long overdue wedding gift to my dear friends. Whenever I do portraits of couples, it's always risky depicting close friends in compromising positions. In this instance, the word bubbles were direct quotes from their wedding album. And the pose I put them in is partially based on a small black & white spot illustration done by the Russian born illustrator, Boris Artzybasheff. The groom is an avid art collector who has the world's most comprehensive collection of Artzybasheff's illustrations from the 1940's. So my scurrilous depiction of Edgar and Evelyn makes me blameless.
