Trees for Christmas

I painted black acrylic over all the stretched canvas and then took a straight pallet knife that I had never used before and applied all the white with it. The bottom photo I took with my iPhone and top with my camera. I hope you enjoy!

this is marvelous. I LOVE the black and white- you would think it would feel stark, but it doesn't. Wonderful textures too. It also actually reminds me of something we used to do as kids- one of my art teachers had us melt shavings of crayon and then on top of that she put some sort of black layer (cannot remember what she used)- and then we scratched away the black in designs- letting the colors underneath show and add to the drawing.
