This was a true labor of love. :) It is made of old newspapers--so it's technically papier mach'e but with no internal supports. It is solid with three connecting parts. The work was christened 'Love Bird' by a 3rd grader--and who am I to argue with innocence? It incorporates its own nest and inside are 4 papier mach'e eggs each with a letter spelling, collectively, LOVE. On one egg, the one with the letter V, there is embedded a fire opal symbolizing 'Hope.' Its eyes are made of amethysts, symbolizing 'Sincerity.' It stands just under a foot tall and was created October of '06. Original Jones Art hopping on one foot in Austin, Texas..

I love him or her...

Artist Reply: It was made to communicate to someone in particular; it was misunderstood by someone in particular. It sits on my mantlepiece as a testament to misunderstood art in general and MY misunderstood art in particular. :)
