30 x 40 on canvas. At times I like to include the human element into my paintings. Some may feel it is somewhat “iconic" and perhaps it is... but my intent is to show a connection of ourselves to the existence and success of the Koi as a species today. Since their emergence from the muddy waters of rice paddies so many years ago, we have had much to do with the devlopement and diversity of their species. In turn the Koi have found a meaningful place, representing symbolic meanings and influencing philosophies and cultures around the world. For one, the presence of 8 Koi in a pond (as I have included in this painting) is symbolic of prosperity and good luck. The Original painting may be available.
