Rest

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matt 11:28-30 Do you know what this scripture means? Try this sometime. Just stop. Sit down suddenly, right where you are. Not in the usual place. Not on a chair. Just stop and sit down. Now take a moment or two to look around. Seemingly, there would be no logical reason why you would do such a thing. Your life is busy. You have STUFF to get done! Still, chances are, you have never seen life from this perspective before. It is the same with gaining new perspective from the Lord. If we truly want to understand the meaning of the scripture above, we may need to simply stop and sit down and look around and wait on the Lord. Declare your weariness and burden before the Lord by taking the time to position yourself to receive His rest. That's the "Come to me" part. And that's why this picture is called "Rest." It represents the place where we need to just stop, sit down, and rest awhile before the Lord.
