As the world turns (2)

In the series "LIGHT" this is my 5th one (part of a diptych):
"As the world turns"

Thom Roslan:
"For some reason IT reminds me of an ancient wall carving from the Hopi Indian Nation called: "Koyaanisqatsi".....meaning "World Out of Balance" or "Life Out of Balance"

Yann Tiersen: Watching Lara (piano)

Texture, another formal element of art, is used to add interest and suggest depth.
It describes either the way an art work actually feels (tactile) when touched, or the visual "feel" of a two-dimensional work.
It can be simulated by the artist and this work is an example.
There are four types of texture in art: actual texture, simulated texture, abstract texture, and invented texture.

When planning a work of art, the importance of texture should be considered in relation to the other formal art elements, such as color or line.
When used skilfully, texture creates contrast, stimulates the senses, and can give a composition both unity and variety.

Part of my teaching program at OLGarts Studio is the use of TEXTURE in your paintings.

With demo's, power point presentations (Apple's Keynote and hand-outs of each step of this fascinating process.

I'll teach you how to bring sculptural ideas and effects into painting, how to incorporate this technique in collages to achieve richly worked paintings.
How to work in depth and light absorption in a piece of art to give it the waxiness desired.
