Baobab Tree Homecoming

Baobab is called a National or Family tree in many parts of Africa. The painting is expressing togetherness; sisters and brothers are walking side by side returning home where their ancestor's spirits remains in the villages. Mrs. Zaire, inspired this painting, she travels to Africa probably twice a year. She lives near my shop and a role model to many children in our community. Thank you.

Awesome work Gina, love the warm human atmosphere of this painting !!

Artist Reply: Hello Marie, I haven't done many paintings lately, but I believe it's time now to start again.

This is absolutely marvelous! I love how you show the togetherness of the people, even without needing to really make them "interact"... just being close and comfortable in the closeness. This reminds me of a lot of folk art I have seen- telling the story of a People with an image.

Artist Reply: Hello Amy, this painting was a gift to a retired principal at a high school. It was strange that I gave it to him, before he found out at the end of the year he was going to retire. The gift was right on time. Thank you.
