Royal Poinciana Tree

Another photo taken last summer. Although not yet in bloom this year, these trees are stunningly beautiful when they don their full orange dress. Right now they are covered with very large seed pods, nearly a foot long which hang down from the branches. Taken on the campus of the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica - 2009. AREN'T THESE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TREES, LAUREL. WE HAVE THEM IN PANAMA ALSO. AND THEY ARE INCREDIBLE IN BEAUTY. I AM THINKING THAT IT IS THE SEEDS FROM THESE PODS THAT WE USE TO RUB ON THE SIDE WALK AND MAKE HOT TO TOUCH. VERY GORGEOUS SHOTS YOU TOOK.
