Beauty in Motion

This is my regular visitor, a "White-Lined Sphinx Hummingbird Moth" to the best of my knowledge. It LOVED frequenting the hyssop plants for a daily evening feast. Copyright Oct. 2009 Silver-Lining Publishing & Design, LLC. Feedback welcome and appreciated please :) !

I love this type of moth, very awesome capture of it,clear as a bell.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Ruth! My son is the one who spotted him first, saying, "I didn't know hummingbirds could be so quiet, did you Mom?" pointing by my knee as I was standing outside of our pool skimming it clean... I about choked on the tea I'd been drinking when I saw it, hustled to the patio for my camera that I always have close by, and shot away for the better part of a half hour as the sun was going down. He came back a few more evenings before bidding us farewell for the season - what an honor it was! :)
