The Road to Despair

The Road to Despair- Believe it or not, this began as a photograph of a stream through a field! My sister said she couldn't understand how I got this out of the picture she saw. I'm not really sure, either. It just seemed to come from somewhere inside. I began manipulating the photograph and began to see shapes and went on to bring the shapes out into something more recognizable. The more I worked, the stronger the shapes became. When I finally finished, this is what I had. It was in color, but I changed it to black & white because it seemed to have more impact that way.

Wonderfully done!

Artist Reply: Hi Stefani, I know this is really late, but I wanted to thank you for your comment on my "The Road to Despair". It was the first time I've ever done anything like this and was really "out of the box" for me! :D Thanks again, Tricia

This is beautiful! I love the ballet dancer and other figures around the stairs, like they're all having fun inspite of the desperation.
