The New Landscape

This photo was taken yesterday, 090807, Chelsea Piers area. Today, 090808, a small airplane leaving Teterboro Airport, NJ crashed with a tourist helicopter over the Hudson River killing 9 people. The divers are having a very difficult time finding any of the wreckage and only 2 of the 9 bodies have been recovered as of right now. The reason they can't find the wreckage is because the water is between 30 and 50 feet deep in this area and the divers can only see 2 feet in front of themselves. This area is the dirtiest part of the Hudson River. If it ever gets cleaned up it won't be in my lifetime. Look at the legacy we have left, the mark we have made, the mess we've created on this planet. © jc warburton 09, Fuji Finepix S8100..
