White Night in Riga

The photo was taken in June 30, 2009 at 21:45. As you can see, sunset is late and darkness is not complete. This phenomenon, called White Night, occurs in the few weeks around the summer solstice in June in areas of high latitude. The Sun does not set until after 10 p.m., and the twilight lasts almost all night.
