International put the Model 560 into production in 1958. The new more powerful tractor used the same transmission that was originally designed in the 1940's for the Model M, a major mistake as many 560s had to be recalled. Not only did that cost the company a great deal of money it also allowed John Deere to displace IH as the dominant manufacturer of American tractors.
