What a Hoot!!

Great Horned Owlet. I let them be for a few hours and walked around the rest of the park, when I came back Mother had moved over one tree and the biggest of the 3, came up to see what all the fuss below was about. I was just thrilled, along with about 50 other birdwatchers and photographer's, each movement brought thousands of camera clicks, I have never heard anything quite like 40 cameras all clicking at once. Met some very nice and interesting people who had set up watch and spent the whole day under that tree. One fella showed me a photo he took earlier of all 3 of the owlets looking down, in the background were several Bald Eagles wondering if they could snag one of those babies, but Mom and Dad stayed on contant watch so no harm should come to them. This was my first Owl sighting and one of my favorite's. Taken in Ladner, B.C.
