Pennan

Pennan Village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland; famous for the film "Local Hero" which was filmed here in the early 80's. One week after this photograph was taken, the village was partly swamped by a landslide.

Oh my! Sorry to hear of the landslide.... A really nice pic. Shows the town and the countryside ;) Love that red phone booth :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Angie, I am hoping to revisit Pennan again this summer, hopefully can find some more angles to better capture the feel of this small fishing village. Regards Andy S

Absorbing Photo, especially with this background story

Artist Reply: Many thanks Hedda. It certainly was a shock when I saw the landslide on the news the following week. It's certainly a stunning tranquil little village. Regards Andy S

looks very calm.

Artist Reply: It's a beautifull village and your right Jean, it was a calm evening, such a shock that it was hit by the landslide less than a week later. Regards Andy S
