Birth Of A Clown

The inspiration for the piece bubbled up from an area I had suppressed consciously for some time. As in all such suppressions, there are unforeseen manifestations. I had mistakenly thought I had put something to rest, but as this piece demonstrates, I was erroneous. Interestingly, it began as a scrap that I had used to clean the tip of my gel pen. It was meant to be thrown away, but I couldn't allow myself to do it. Color gel pencil on gel pen drawing. Image area is roughly 3 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. Original Jones Art from Austin, Texas. I will give you three guesses who the clown is. ;)

Beautiful colors Charles. I hope your not referring to yourself being the clown! Your anything but!
