30 x 56 in. on a 1.5 deep, textured canvas. This is an earlier one of my many paintings that reach into a more surreal world of the koi pond. The images mingling with the koi are the members of my family. the youngest... more full of wonder and curiousity in the world, is reaching up, trying to touch the casually swimming Koi. The rest of the family however, are almost completely oblivious to the beauty around them. Ahh... to be young again! This particular painting brought out some interesting responses. Some viewers who missed the surreal and metaphorical intent, found it to be a somewhat dark and disturbing image. I guess that just goes to show you... when we are compelled to form our own opinions and interpertations, they may be influenced and even determined by our own demeanor. In other words... We all have our dark days.

I love it. What do you think the pond elf's view is from the belly side of the koi? Would make an intersting painting don't you think? Suni

I think I'm more partial to the close ups but you know I think all of your work is truly astounding. I want every one of them!
