As art does indeed imitate life, this painting was inspired by my own shortlived musical career. To this day my dear sister still laughs at the memory of all the cats charging out of the garage every time my bow should as much as touch the strings of my violin. Could I help it if they didn't appreciate classical music?! Afterall, I am sure it had nothing to do with my abilities. By the way mom exactly why was I banished to the garage to practice? Lost in the haunting notes of a minuet, A wee Pembroke Welsh Corgi seems oblivious to the fact that her audience has indeed left (or is quickly leaving) the building. "A Sweet Melody" is a whimsical original one-of-a-kind painting in a delightfully petite, collectible size. Original 5 x 7 gallery-wrapped canvas in the private collection of J. Maxwell.
