The Man!

Soft pastel painting of Jack O'Neill, who is, for me, THE MAN! Met the actor, who plays him on Stargate a month ago, and he seemed more handsome in the flesh than on screen. What a really nice chap Richard Dean Anderson is. He is a conservationist and actively goes out with the Sea Shepherd Association to try and protest the killing of the seals in Canada and the whales in Japan and to protest environmental damage to our seas and rivers all over the world.......

Hello Maureen! How are you? Shivering up there on the Yorkshire moors. I love the Yorkshire landscape. It's specatularly beautiful! This is a wonderful portrait, very lovingly conceived. Love the detailed treatment of the hair and the eyes arereally well depicted. You can't beat soft pastel for authentic skin tones. Brilliant artwork! Love it!

Artist Reply: Hiya Rusty! Yes I AM shivering up here in Yorkshire but I bet it's none too warm down there on the welsh coast either eh? Thanks for your lovely feedback about my drawing of The Man who, yes, I do love, after watching him for many years on TV and then actually meeting him last November. Soft pastel is a brilliant medium to use for portraits as you have already said. I love it and tend to use it for anything now, not just portraits. Thanks again Rusty - I really appreciate it.
