Darkness Remains

Darkness Remains is a black and white abstract piece. It measures 18x27x.75 and I used only black and white pigments, and in certain areas they seem to blend and create gray. The way I created this, was I first laid down some bold black lines, and then as they were drying, I spread the paint by brushing the black lines with a "dry-brush" technique (this created the gray, "sketchy" look of depth). Then I used the titanium white to highlight and bring out the abstract design. Finally, I painted the sides black for a framed effect. This is a very bold and striking piece.
