NIGHT CRY©

__________________________________

"A sun sets in the sky,
done with its work
as the moon comes up.
A cry breaks the silence of the night
as she tries to keep her family together..."

THIS IS AN EXCERPT OF ONE OF MY FIRST PAINTINGS (2001)-
Acrylic on stretched canvas
16"-20" (40.6cmx50.8cm) unframed.

To add more drama, I mixed fine beach sand with acrylic paint, which I used for the backround.
This gives the rough effect I wanted for this NIGHT CRY.
The painting has been hanging in the apartment of my oldest daughter Eveline and in the office of my husband Fred.

A Shiver,
Hold me, comfort me.
The stones are nothing but pain tonight.
Hold me to your breast so that I ramble.
The stars are gray as ash
and the road to them is blaze with light.

1993 -Saadi Youssef- (Seven Poems)
Translated from the Arabic by Khaled Mattawa

Wonderful!!! Strange and optimistic at the same time. And striking motion in the painted depth.

Reminds me of the Queen album cover in some ways Olga. We Are The Champions. Love those colours & the metal figures. xx

Very vivid and thought provoking...the harsh angles make the title so appropriate
