I like this...excellent colors and idea...even the most wild women can be holy...just ask Mary Magdelene.

Artist Reply: Thank you for your observation Christine. This series is both an allegorical story of Christ and a satire of the "star" worshiping of todays culture. It's also a bit of a play on words with smiles and humour hiding behind the painting.....

Awesome concept! I LOVE this so much, it's so brilliant on so many levels. The mix of contemporary with renasissance, the use of a pop culture icon named after a religious icon, and the actual painting itself, which is stunning, gives this piece much to be admired, with a touch of humor to it as well. Very intruiging and talented work! I also love that you chose "Lucky Star' era Madonna - that's when (in my opinion) her music and style was the best. She was so cool back then! Amazing painting Frank!!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you for the kind words m'Lady Jane. I was wondering... you know after you look at a painting so long working on it, you can't see it any more. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would make the connections... And I thank you for taking the time to look at it and think about what is going on. And by the way... I think she was at her best, most raw or powerful time then also. Tak a look at my web site to see the complete series. Thanks for stopping by

WOW THIS IS JUST AWESOME CREATIVITY FRANK I LOVE IT

Artist Reply: Thank you very much... It has been a long road back to painting... and I wasn't sure anyone would like what I am doing now, much less "get it". There are actually 4 paintings in the Italian Elvis series. They are all on my web site. I'm now looking ... trying to find a place where I can actually have a show. Best regards m'Lady ...have a look at the web site and let me know what you think..
