Cat's Eye

Cat's Eye is my VERY FIRST ATC/ACEO! It is original artwork (2.5" x 3.5"), and is done on a silver foil scratchboard (shiny and unique) with acrylic paint over top.

Time to complete: 2 hours

This card was listed for sale at ArtCardsWanted.com for only 4 days, and it sold on March 4, 2006! SO exciting!

Thanks in advance to all who comment! I appreciate you stopping by to view my work! Thanks to everyone making this little art original so popular! :)

Super details! Love the eye! I had to look a few times to see all the points of interest of this one. I never even thought of combining scratch board and paint. Way cool!

Artist Reply: We have an artist here in Saskatchewan who specializes (commercially and successfully!) in clayboard with paints... wonderful work - and I actually worked for his gallery for a bit, so it was a lot of fun. Paint really brings this medium to life!

I don't think I've ever seen scratch board in color,,, nicely done and a great "eye"dea ;)

John Houle 02 Mar 2006

Absolutely stunning Christina. I've worked with scratchboard ... a medium that requires more patience that I have in me. I know of some artists that paint on them like you have. and it looks great. Keep up the great work. Hopefully in the years to come we'll both be rubbing shoulders in the wildlife art world. Take care. John

Artist Reply: Thanks John! :) I too hope to be rubbing shoulders in the wildlife art world. I feel you're a little farther ahead than I am, but I'm working hard, so we'll see! :) Thanks for your support! It means a lot coming from a fellow wildlife artist.
