One Last Look Back

This was just a quick oil study that I did on Friday night. I had been to the library and checked out a couple of books on two of the great masters. Davinci and Van Gogh ... strangely two very different artists that both seem to attract my attention. Leonardo was litterally a genius ... So multitallented and diverse in his acomplishments, while Vincent put so much emotion in his work that one can't help but admire the beauty in them .... This painting has a bit of both of the masters in them ... My porportions are usually true to life as would be any of Leonardo's paintings or sketches, but with the looser brushstrokes and attempt at injecting it with passion and feeling that Vincent gives his. One other thing that kept coming back to catch my eye was the pose ... It reminded me of Vemeer's The Girl with The Pearl Earing. Enjoy.
