The Model T had been in production since 1908. By the mid 1920s Edsel Ford knew that its days were numbered. It would take sometime to convince his father however. On May 26, 1927, the last Model T, number 15,000,000, was made. Five months later the new Model A began coming off the line. The hardwood lumber that was used to build the Model A woodie wagons came from the forest, lumber camps and mills owned by the Ford Motor Company in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The station wagon sold for less than $700.
