The Red Cello

This is a still life inspired by a visit to an exhibition of the work by Matisse held in London recently. I've always admired the Fauvist movement. Matisse in particular and feel as Kadinsky told us that colour has a language of its very own. I enjoyed the freedom to express myself in colour and simplified forms so much I'm now working on a series of them.
