“…and the hearts became roses filled with diamond seeds.” soft pastel on charcoal paper came from a meditation when my thoughts were on Holy Mother Mary. It was an unusually long title but that was what I heard as I worked on this. The diamond, the hardest mineral according to Friedrich Mohs ' Hardness Scale, does wonderful things with light. I attempted that with the pastel. As these seeds were picked up, they imparted energy to the holder, whether or not it was known. To choose to believe opens the door to the possibility that an exchange occurred. That can be true for many things. I had a physics class in junior high school. We memorized the minerals according to hardness. I have no clue as to why, when I was younger, feldspar was acceptable. So why was it changed to orthoclase?
