Another update on my drawing “The Tramp (A Self Portrait)” 9 x 12 Arteza Expert Drawing pencils on Arteza Premium 80lb Drawing Pad paper. I’m using 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B, and 4B pencils. I’m not using any blending stumps or tortillions on this. I layery graphite by making tiny overlapping circular motions with my pencil. I use more pressure for darker tones and lighter pressure for lighter tones. I’m focusing on the tiny nuances and imperfections in my skin that makes me me. For the stubble above my lip, I simply make tiny dots really close together. I have a scar just under my left nostril (screen’s right) which I tried to capture the highlight and shadow (even a scar has shadow). More to come soon!!
