The Sharer

I used the Paint program on my computer to create my artwork that is based on an incident that I witnessed in 2019 while visiting my sister. One warm day, we were sitting on her porch and neighborhood children were playing outside. A little boy came out his house with a bag of cookies and shouted to the children playing: Hey! Want some cookies?. Well, the children came running up to him, and grabbed cookies out of the bag before he had a chance to give to/share his cookies with those ill-mannered, greedy kids. Then they went on back to playing. I remember not even hearing a "thank you" from any of them. Those children certainly needed to be taught about manners. My sister and I felt sorry for the little boy, especially seeing the looks of surprise and annoyance on his face, but he appeared to quickly get pass what had happened when he attempted to be a 'sharer', and sat down on his house steps, ate some of the cookies that were left in the bag, watched the kids playing, then happily joined them after a while. You know- children are so resilient. We adults can learn to inhabit this important quality also.

Inspirational really. Your artwork always tells some kind of the story. Maybe I should learn from you to write some behind the scene story to my artwork also because not even one of such things could exist without the story behind.

Artist Reply: I highly appreciate your commendable feedback Tatjana. :)
