I've noticed the so-called beautiful people have a certain symmetrical sameness to them that is almost cookie cutter in some ways, somewhat boring in its repetition. And it has been proven time and time again that a pretty package can decorate what is basically an empty box. In fact, I think being caught up in surface beauty, especially one's own, can prove very detrimental, especially if it is viewed as the one and only asset. There is something pure in the imperfections that make up most of us. And when we, the imperfect, are older, we have something inside us that makes our outward appearance less of an issue. Pity those for whom looks is the only measure they have of self-worth. To them, age must truly be a dreaded condition. How many twisted puppets have been created by cosmetic surgeons? This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil. It's another rather lopsided example of Original Jones Art in search of inner beauty in northwest Austin, Texas.
