What you are seeing here is a hand painted watercolor. The original image can be seen in the Gallery, Computer Graphics and Digitally Enhanced Images in this portfolio. I manipulated the photograph in Photoshop, and then painted the image using india ink and traditional watercolors. It was finished in December of 2018. For the past couple of years I have been scanning some of the old photographs and slides that my mother gave me. Throughout my childhood my father shot a lot of 35mm slides. The source for this image was slide that my father took that came back as a double-exposure. It shows my aunt Pudge sitting at her kitchen table in a housecoat. At the bottom of the picture is her husband, Boyd, cutting a piece of watermelon. The first image was taken as a vertical composition, and the second image was taken as a horizontal.
