I find it amazing how images appear when viewed through rain. Do many of us ever stop to consider how refraction of light by rain effects how we see things around us? This colored pencil painting is the second in a series that looks at this effect of rain through the eye of art. The piece, entitled "City Rain", is based on a photograph that I took on a recent visit to Chicago, Illinois and its Museum of Natural History. It is done on museum quality Grafix drafting film using Farber-Castell Polychromos and Marxhall pencils. The size of the artwork is 11 X 14 inches.

TOTALLY AMAZING AND SO WELL DONE, WILL !! THIS MAKES A FANTASTIC ABSTRACT!! CONGRATS !!!!

Artist Reply: Marie-Claire: what a very nice comment to make. I appreciate it very much. I agree that this does give an abstract type image. I find that rain helps me to achieve this type of image and is an interesting departure from the realism that I normally do. I'm glad that you like this look. Have a good weekend. Best regard, Will
