Channelworks

Barges are waiting to unload. In the old days they did not dispose of the sophisticated electronic cranes they have today. Once the crane was fixed up it was whole a job to displace it, and it was an infernal job to work with those machines. There were no heavy trucks avaible and al the materials had to be supplied by ordenary barges who had to be brought carefully, one by one, under the crane-arm. Image size: 260 x 360 mm
