The freedom that the USA guarantees (calling it an inalienable right) spoils us into comfortable slumbers over generations of time. At a celebration of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said that all we may have done (Japanese) is to awaken a sleeping giant. It often takes others to realize the value of our own nation just as regrets are naturally a part of life. The regrets that “haunt“ us are always those we remember that we were given a choice in.
