A Mother And Child

I intentionally began by inverting many of the usual details of the Italian Renaissance many traditional MOTHER AND CHILD paintings. Hence, instead of the mutually Loving facial expressions and gentle cuddling, the mother holds the child away from her body as if about to cast it into a fireplace. Her bright red garments sharply contrast the usual peaceful blue, and the surroundings, rather than a sense of royalty appear much more like a garbage land-fill! POEM: A MOTHER AND CHILD -- HOW CAN I DARE TO BEAR \ AND RAISE A CHILD? THE CANCEROUS CHAOS\ SUCH RANDOM TORTURE.\ KILLING.A WORLD UNSAFE FOR HUMANS\ ANIMALS,\ ALL NATURE! ALL SENSE.\ ALL SENSIBILITY DESTROYED!EVEN PEOPLE NEVER CLOSER\ TO SUCH VIOLENCE THAN A TV OR NEWSPAPER. AND WE BECOME NO LONGER CLOSER TO PEOPLE! TO OTHER PEOPLE\ AND TO OURSELVES!SUFFERING VAGUE FEARS: EVEN THEIR FAMILIES!EVENTUALY, PERHAPS, THEMSELVES. AND AS I'M SURE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE DO: MOST OF US DO CARE DEEPLY FOR THEM. I DO.\ AND FOR MY CHILD. FOR ALL OF US!
