I did a small drawing a number of years back with the same idea, though it has its differences since I did not visually refer to the previous piece. This is a 20 by 16 inch acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. It was chosen to display in the 2015 Austin Visual Art Association's Figurative Show opening on April 11. Original Jones Art from Austin, Texas.

Truly looks so serene and free and open Propped Up a gentle distance from the colorful Backdrop and In Truth posses, more than a Hint of Elegance in that place. I think Welcome to the eyes!

Artist Reply: Each of us, I think, is propped up by someone or something, John. For some it's family, religion, a sense of power or entitlement. For others it's a significant other or a self-made delusion. In fact the delusion can encompass all the above. But maybe he looks just a little hopeful and that's not a bad thing. :) Thanks for the comment.
