I'm starting to undertake some paintings of the beautiful Derbyshire & Yorkshire landscape scenery so thought I'd start with Castleton in the Peak District. I plan to sell them off the web site and at Galleries in and around Derbyshire when I've completed more. Please enjoy the step-by-step demo of a great farm we stay on each year called the Riding House Farm Cottages. The painting shows David and Denise rounding up the sheep and encapsulates the beautiful landscape there, albeit a little bit harsh come winter time. Well worth a visit any time of the year though! The farm is nestled in the Hope Valley basin and you can see the mother hill 'shimmering mountain' in the background called Mam Tor. Simply stunning for walkers and visitors alike.
