When I first spied this bewdy of a Continental – A Big Black Lincoln Rag Top to be more precise – I remembered this massive road yacht of a car was the first one with which I fell in love – Ha! Yeh U can’t really love things but a big black continental convertible – a rag top at that – is surly lovable. When these great hulking beasts had the top down and the wind was blowing through ur hair is was quite an experience and a sight to behold. Imagine picking up ur date driving or being driven in one of these symbols of the country club lifestyle. I remember I was wearing a leopard print vest under me tux that night. The driver – I was only 14 after all – pulled up in front of ol’what’shername’s house and I bounded up to the door on the wings of fluttering doves – what a night! She was beautiful deck out all in white – from her textured stockings to her white lace dress and gloves. My old dad even consented to wear a chauffer’s cap to complete the effect. It was a night to remember ~:0) Personally, if I owned a big black lincoln rag top now days I’d definitely want the twin engine model – a 400 c.i.d. engine for the front bay and another for the back one. That’s driving in in style with more power and space than u’ll ever need – ‘course U could fill that extra space with more friends – maybe a three piece band – plenty of room for a dance floor round back – bewdy!
