John Kelly Portrait

This is a portrait of one of Surfing's legendary maestros. John Kelly was the first to speed surf, or surf the curl in his youth in Hawaii. Recently passed away, he was a revolutionary in his quest to help the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement, SOS (Save our Surf) and other ecological and environmental causes. John surfed or swam every day of his life. He was my next door neighbor at Black Point on Oahu and a wonderful friend whom I will always admire. His father was the famous Hawaiian Artist John Kelly. Both made history.
