My name is Jill Smith and I own a tiny little art studio, called Back Brook Studio, located in Southern Maine. I live in a quiet, woodsy area with my awesome husband and a feisty, but lovable rescue cat named Laken.
Since my first memories, I have always been a creative person in arts and crafts, I began acrylic painting rocks in 1995 and sold many in craft consignment shops, fairs and on commission. That lead to graphite and colored pencil drawing a few years later and eventually I started acrylic painting on canvas.
Currently, I am experimenting in abstract and in today's abstract expressionism. I'm often attracted to bright and cheerful color combinations, involving flowers, shapes and unlikely compositions.
