2012 brings a host of shows, some have been mentioned before. January was the Canyon Arts Festival. It was a wonderful day and attended by almost 7,000! In March I was at the Superstition Mountain Museum, and again it was a great show and very well attended. Then I spent two weekends at the Mesa Marketplace, but that was not successful for me so I guess it's not the right venue for me. But it was an opportunity to work while meeting and greeting.

In April I have two more shows: April 1 is the Spring Show for the members of Artists of the Superstitions and April 15 the Artists of the Superstitions will be at the Olive Mill in Queen Creek, AZ. Both of these shows are done every years and are exclusively for member of Artists of the Superstitions.

I am currently Vice-President of Artists of The Superstitions, which is a local art group of juried artists.

Here is my painting, "Spring Show" which will be on the April cover of the Gold Canyon Ledger. The cover can be viewed at www.goldcanyonledger.com after April 1.

So much has happened since my last blog entry, but here's an update. In 2010-2011 October through April I participated in 7 local art shows and was the coordinator of three of those shows.

I am also excited to be giving classes at our local community college (Central Arizona College). Currently, I am teaching "Watercolor: the Next Step". It is a class that I developed that is student centered. Each week will revolve around requests by the students to explore a certain new area of watercolors or solve a problem that is of interest to the class. There is plenty of time to develop and paint a picture (or two!). Lots of one on one time for the students.

My show schedule this year started with an October show at the Olive Mill in Queen Creek, Arizona. In November I will be at three shows: A Studio Tour, given by Artists of the Superstitions, on November 5 & 6; a local show at the community college on November 12; the Artists of the Superstitions Members Show on November 27.

In 2012, I am scheduled to show at the Gold Canyon Arts Festival on January 28; the Superstition Mountain Museum on March 10 and 11; a members show to be scheduled in April and possibly another Olive Mill show in March. Email me for more information about any of these shows.

Just finished the Canyon Arts Festival 2010, on January 23. I was art show director, plus an exhibitor. The weather was a concern with massive storms hitting us throughout the week and even on Friday night. But Saturday came with spotty clouds, both white and gray and just one rain shower early in the day. Surprisingly, the guests came and enjoyed - around 2500 visitors. Besides the first-class artists, we had entertainment throughout the day and food as well.

My next show is at the Superstition Mountain Museum on February 13. And I'll be at the museum again on February 20th for the Patio Art show.

I was accepted at the Boyce Thompson "Third Annual Artist at the Arboretum" which will be Saturday April 24, 2010.

And, of course, our Artists of the Superstitions will again have their Member's Show at the Big White Tent on March 28, 2010.

I have many people interested in my classes and hope to get that going again!

Paul Wolterbeck - the Arboretum Show coordinator - picked this watercolor as his favorite. The Arboretum is now featuring classes on prickly pear fruit and how to cook with it. Also, I took the reference picture at the Arboretum. Enjoy!

Just put up my new show at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I have 40 framed artworks in watercolor, pastel and pencil. A lot of originals and prints that are matted and reasonably priced. Every piece in my show is represented on this website. Here's a picture of my exhibit.

It's been a busy winter in Arizona. Shows: The very successful Artists Studio Tour in November 2008 and an Artists of the Superstitions Members Show after Thanksgiving. The Canyon Arts Festival in January, 2009. An art show at the Superstition Mountain Museum in February and our Members Spring Art Show in April.

Also, I exhibited my works at a local coffee shop in Gold Canyon for the month of April. In May I was exhibiting "on the wall" at the Superstition Mountain Museum.

Look for my exhibits and shows the rest of this year: September exhibit at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, November Art Tour on the 7th & 8th, Artists of the Superstitions Members Show December 6, 2009. Canyon Arts Festival again in January 2010, the Museum in February and another members show in March.

In addition, I have been busy with giving workshops at the local Community College. More to come in the fall and spring. I was also involved with the planning and implementation of the Studio Tour, the Members Show and the Canyon Arts Festival.

This year I again will be coordinator of the Canyon Arts Festival and help with Artists of the Supersitions Studio Tour and Member shows.

I also remain as treasurer and web site coordinator for our local art group: Artists of the Superstitions. Keep up on what we're doing: www.ArtistsoftheSuperstitions.com.

Please feel free to contact me at any time about my portfolio or any of the shows I will be attending.

This is a great time of year in Arizona! Many art shows are planned for the next several months. I'll be at the Artists of the Superstitions Studio Tour, which occurs on November 1 & 2. Next, we are planning our members' show on November 30 from 10 am to 3 pm. This show will be under the big white tent at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort.

In January is the very popular Canyon Arts Festival. In 2006, I won the poster contest for this show and will proudly display my paintings again.

Then in April, we are planning another members' show.

In addition, I will be hosting 4 workshops at the local Community College (Central Arizona College). These are basic color, technique and getting to know your medium type of workshops.

Well, back from our (almost) 3 week road trip. It was such fun to see the grandkids and the beautiful United States. Travelled from Arizona to North Carolina. Stayed at the Biltmore Estates and toured that beautiful home and grounds. Then three days with the grandsons. Of course, they wore us out! On to Lake Michigan to be with friends for several days. Visited air museums along the way...my husband's passion. Had a great visit - then back home. Stopped to see the Arabia exhibit in Kansas City -check it out on google.

We are tired of hotel rooms -some good, some not so good, but still expensive. After over 5,000 miles I guess you can understand.

Back to business and painting and getting ready for shows. Next one is at the Day of the Cowboy on July 25...see you there!

The heat of summer in Arizona is here. Off for a few weeks to experience some other weather. Taking along my camera and sketchbook so I can create some great images when I get back.

Looks like I'll be teaching again at the College beginning in October. This time I'll be doing all day workshops. Should be lots of fun!
