Battle

My abstraction inspired by Ruben's "Battle Between Constantine and Licinius" is a comment on classical Renaissance and Baroque art. In this case my "American verismo" style uses Macchiaioli "dabs" of paint in specific locations to create color harmony vibrations which are then countered by other dabs to enhance this or that shape. My attention to eye movement dynamics allows the action to continue with figurative movement and tensions that emphasize the struggle enfolding before our eyes. This is an oil painting on canvas strip framed and is 24 x 36 inches.

I like it, the style gives into imagination. Good work!
