SUNDOWN IMAGING SOLUTIONS
PHOTOGRAPHY BY PAUL COCKLIN
Welcome to SIS, the website where I showcase both past and present
photography. Having started shooting color slides in the mid
1980's, I've gradually moved more and more towards black and
white negatives in a variety of sizes, ranging from 35mm work all
the way up to 8x10 large format work. Having grown up in
Philadelphia and currently living in Northern California, I'm
forever amazed at the wide open spaces and interesting historical
locations of the American West.

As I've grown as a photographer, I've begun to experiment with some
historical alternative processes such as Lith and Bromoil. Both offer
a great degree of creative control over the final image and are
perfectly suited to certain subjects such as old stone and wood
structures, the remnants of human civilization gone awry.

I hope you enjoy my images. One of the points I've learned about
photography, and art in general, is that it's purpose is to evoke
emotion in the viewer. Without that emotional connection the image
may be technically perfect but visually without a soul.
Born in Philadelphia in 1972, Paul
Cocklin spent his formative years
in the city of Brotherly Love. Paul
has traveled to 45 of the 50 U.S.
states, as well as most countries in
Europe and Latin America. He
currently resides in Northern
California.
