Mystic Mountain by Rebecca Mullan

Just outside Banff Alberta is this picturesque valley that struck me as having a sacred, mystic quality to it (which is why I approached it as if it was made with stained glass.

From a photo I took on holiday to the Banff/Canmore area of Alberta -definately a lovely piece of this planet.

For me, doing this piece was a rushed effort as a fundraiser for a non-profit society that works on behalf of persons with brain injury, as well as a 'getting -re-acquainted -to- watercolor- and- brush' exercise :)

Painted with Light, the pinkest and most glorious sunrise I've ever experience happened this morning. It was more incredible than what shows in the photos, and I thought it should be shared.

Today's sunrise was a beautiful beginning to any day..and one I will cherish.

I wish all my ArtWanted.com staff and friends (and the friends I haven't met yet) a happy and joyous Holiday Season and a wonderful year.

Most of the elements in this creation are from Rebecca's profile. I looked over many beautiful images to use to depict a fitting birthday card for Blue - nothing I found is as lovely as her work. Not surprising - such a beautiful person can create only beauty.

Spencer And His Guitar

Spencer Gibb (musician, singer, songwriter, music producer).

I first checked out Spencer and his band, 54 Seconds, as a fan of his dad Robin Gibb, and uncles Maurice and Barry (The Bee Gees). I kept going back to the site because I love the music.

This creation was done from a photo (not taken by me - I was given permission to use it). I loved the image - the talented artist in a reflective moment with his guitar.. a poignant and very representational pose of Spencer. Their sound is steeped in ambiance and mood, songs crafted from contemplation of life and love.

I finally figured out how to make up a layout with folders and most recent images. Only problem now is deciding what goes into which folder... seems some items will fit into various lol. This is my firsst blog on ArtWanted.com. I'm always reluctant to start, not sure what to share. Well, today's Blessing gave me just that..something lovely to share. Wednesday December 19 2007 - seemed to be starting like any other day - but the sunrise was so incredible - I thought it should be shared. I grabbed the camera, but it needed new batteries. After scrambling to install new ones before the Glorious event was over.. I ran out into the snow, still in my slippers and snapped a few shots. The beauty and peace of the moments were precious. It was stunning, more stunning than the pics can show, yet they give an idea what it was like. Enjoy :) Happy Holidays to all my friends on Art Wanted, including the friends I haven't met yet.
