Focusing on the above led to do something I had not done before worked in a hard edge manner to gain full control of the composition. Well after a near death experience at 70 ai took inventory of what I achieved and decided to go to the philosophy of a more painterly approach which has become more evident as of late. After all paint is what it is all about. Let's see what happens with the time I have left!

I have been painting and drawing It seems like for centuries. My initial invitation to Art was a librarian at the age of five.I used to go to the library to look at all the art books the librarian would bring to me ,she I couldn't read so she encouraged me devour visually all my little brain could handle. I was floored by the accomplishments of all these wonderful men and woman for their vision and endurance. one day she challenged me to create some of my own efforts into the world of art, little did she know she had set me on fire. I am approaching seventy and it been a meandering adventure. I have painted in just about every genre, leading me to my final road of expression going completely abstract. WHY? After 9/11 I found myself with little challenge in working in a realistic manner and worried about all things creative coming to an end, no real satisfaction, no joy and nowhere to go. A do or die kind of situation. Just thinking to myself what movement in art history would challenge me the most? As it turned out, I always thought Abstract Expressionism was too short of a movement and that is where I drew the challenge. These works brought in all the elements and principles of design, where you could incorporate all the techniques you've learned in the past, focus on composition and relearn the biggest problem solving a puzzle.
