I have a store on Etsy.com and create/sell handmade items. My great-niece, Riley, modeled a few of my ruffled skirts. She is 7 years old and has never modeled before. Needless to say, I love my little &quot;Boo&quot; like crazy!&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

window and seeing a vast field
of green sprinkled with bright
pink and red flowers, a
beautiful blue sky and white,
fluffy clouds. One day, I hope
to see a scene like the one I
just described, but until then
this painting definitely fulfills
the dream. I&apos;ve said it before
but it bears repeating...I am
sure that heaven will have
places like this...open fields full
of luscious green grass and
beautiful flowers in colors we
cannot imagine. It is one of
the many things I am looking
forward to in God&apos;s new home
for us: and maybe walking with
Jesus through a field like this
one would be, well...just
heavenly!

<title>Blog Entry - April 09, 2012</title>

<description>It is hard to believe that Spring has &quot;sprung&quot; and Easter 2012 is now history. Here in Arkansas, the weather has been more like June than March or
April. Everything has bloomed and the trees are all lush and green.  I keep waiting for the tornado&apos;s and severe thunderstorms to erupt as they usually do this time of year, but it has been relatively quiet. Other areas have been hit hard, but central Arkansas has had only rain and lots of sun.  I must admit that 90F in April is a bit odd even for our state, but if you look back in history you will see that nothing has really changed.  It&apos;s just like King Solomon said in the Bible: &quot;there is nothing new under the sun.&quot;
Although I had an episode with my health issues, I have been able to accomplish much. Charity and Nick&apos;s first wedding shower was Saturday and they were blessed with many, many wonderful gifts. We moved Charity&apos;s few belongings into her sister&apos;s garage while she completes her final pharmacy school rotation in Ft. Smith...the next time they are moved it will be to their new house! Wedding and Reception decisions have been made and the invitations have now been mailed. Even with a small, intimate wedding there is so much that must be attended too! And still...I feel the urge to create.
New ideas have been &quot;shown&quot; to me. God has been answering my prayers for creativity and direction. Now, if only I could keep up with this blog and all the email and website stuff I would be fine! No, that&apos;s not totally true. There is housework, yard work, laundry, cooking...it looks like I need to get &quot;down on my knees&quot; and do some more praying! Maybe God will send the &apos;Keebler Elves&apos; in the night to do all the yucky stuff so that I can just keep working/playing with my paints and oil pastels!
Many Blessings as Always...

<description>Sometimes I wonder why I try to MAKE things happen when I should just let God do it for me. I have bought so much Duck Tape and, although I enjoy creating with it and staging/photographing my work it has increasingly taken up more of my time.
Dance Team try-outs are coming up soon, and I am busy creating Duck Tape floral arrangements to offer for sale to parents and well-wishers of the girls trying out. But... will they sell? Am I wasting my time? Or will I be so busy with orders that my &quot;Art&quot; will have to wait for a while? I hope it&apos;s the latter because like most artists I could REALLY use the money to pay some bills!
I find it difficult to focus on just one thing...my mind is always one step ahead of me when it comes to new things to paint, create, or just new and better ways of doing what I am already doing. Do you have that problem or is it just me? Sometimes I feel like VanGogh must have felt when he painted 30 paintings in 30 days...I have so much in my head that I&apos;ve just got to get it out!
But, I have made time to take part in a Bible study with 3 other friends for 2 hours every Wednesday. It has been time well spent! Not only am I learning I am also around PEOPLE...unlike being in my small bedroom studio with no one else home all day. It has made me feel that I am part of the world again!
My son&apos;s wedding is fast approaching and the wedding showers are coming up fast. They are having their engagement photo&apos;s done this weekend and then their first BIG shower is the next weekend. They also closed on a new house that is more than TWICE the size of ours...it is a dream home and I am delighted that they are able to afford such luxury...now, if they can just buy the furniture they will need to fill it! So, Nick will be moving to Conway on May 5th. That will open up his room in our home for...say...maybe moving my studio there so I have more room? I&apos;m hoping my husband suggests that!
My youngest son, Nate, is talking about volunteering for a second tour before his time is up in the Army Reserves. Afghanistan...the thought makes me shiver. He is only 23 and I want him around for a long, long time. Iraq was a bit different since he was located on a very large base. There was danger involved, of course, but not like what he would encounter in Afghanistan. He is a combat medic and the things he sees are not easily forgotten. Please join me in praying that he makes the choice that is right for him.
Now...I must get to work, I mean PLAY...my paintbrushes and oil pastels are calling my name and you know that I cannot refuse them!
May God richly bless you and fill you with joy today...
Laura

<description>I am so glad the GARDEN SHOW is over. Had a little issue with my blood pressure so I wasn&apos;t able to do all I had hoped. But it was great having dinner with several of the wonderful folks who work with my husband, Kevin, at River Valley Horticultural Products. In fact, RVHP won a blue ribbon for best interpretation of theme. You need to check them out on the internet...here is their link and view a few of the photo&apos;s on their Facebook page:

http://www.rivervalleyhp.com

Please keep me in your prayers as I have a few medical tests in my near future. I&apos;m hoping this new gastroenterologist will be aware he needs to look for ZEBRAS as well as HORSES as far as my entire digestive system is concerned. We&apos;ve been looking for &apos;horses&apos; for over 2 years so maybe, just maybe there is a &apos;zebra&apos; there instead!
May God continue to bless you in all your creative endeavors.
Many Blessings,
Laura aka Mrs. Art Lady

<description>Hey Ya&apos;ll,
I&apos;ve been working like crazy trying to keep up with actually COMPLETING paintings and staying up-to-date with all the computer stuff that comes along with trying to PROMOTE the completed paintings! Who knew it would be so time consuming!
By the way, my oldest son, Nick is now formally engaged! He&apos;s had that ring since before Christmas but was waiting for an &apos;ordinary day&apos; to propose. He took Charity on a hike to see the waterfalls at Petite Jean Mountain. My youngest son, Nate, &amp; one of his friends went too so that he would be there to take photo&apos;s. Charity had no idea what was coming.
It looks like we will be having an August wedding in Destin, FL...right on the beach, with my husband, Kevin, marrying them. He is a licensed minister here in Arkansas so just needs to get licensed in Florida. What a wonderful blessing!

<description>Dear World...

I am new to blogging but have been writing in journals for years. It seems that writing a blog is basically the same thing. Good to know!
I am very busy trying to catch up with dog portraits and creating floral paintings for the February HOME AND GARDEN SHOW in Little Rock, AR. My husband of over 30 years, Kevin, is the general manager and co-owner of a large wholesale/retail nursery in LR. The Garden Show is the first big event of the year.
*IT WAS HERE SEVERAL YEARS AGO THAT I SOLD MY VERY FIRST PAINTING... so it is a special time for me.
Last year I set up my easel and painted a dog portrait as people watched. However, I became ill and was unable to attend on the 2nd day. However, several weeks later I received a phone call from a woman who had seen my work at the Garden Show. Story made short: she purchased 7 paintings of various sizes for my largest sale to date of $3500.
Needless to say I want to have plenty of new work available!
I also want to have products from &apos;Art Wanted&apos; available for purchase or order...so, I have ordered a few things just to check them out.
Please send me a note if you have any suggestions for paintings or would like to talk to me about commissioned work.
May God richly bless you today and everyday!
Laura
