For the next ten portraits I do in charcoal, I am running a fundraising campaign for them. Each portrait will be specialty priced at $100 with 25% going towards the Kuhrt Family Fund. Please contact me for more information.</DIV></DIV>

Bragg in North Carolina.

This event was organized in accordance with President George W. Bush's proclamation that March 2008 would be for Women's History Month.

Showcasing the role that women have played in our American way of life-from front line action on the battlefield to 'behind the scene' roles-contributors from across the country had exhibits, information and artwork. To name a few: The National Women's History Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, Fayetteville Museum of Art, North Carolina Museum of Art and Cumberland County Art Council.

Seven artists, both local and in surrounding states, also partcipated. What a wide array of amazing talent! I had a hard time believing that I was showing my work with these amazing artists--their talent was truly aweing.

This photo shows an award of recognition given by the XVIII Airborne Corps Commander.

Thank you to all who came and participated in the events and exhibits. It truly would have not been the same without you. :)</DIV></DIV>

Hi, guys! It's almost 2009--wow! What a great year! Bringing in the New Year celebration is a wonderful occassion to review the past year's accomplishments--(a great motivator for new inovations!)

My website was overhauled in December of this past year with new features and pages. Paypal is now an option for new portraits and paintings to add to ease in purchasing. Feedback has been most helpful in reconstructing the site, (thank you!) Feel free to check out the new look at www.icansketchu.com.

I've been working on some new landscape images which I hope to have uploaded soon. There are always new portraits being created, and with permission from the subject, I will feature a few of these here as well.

Hope your new year starts off great!

Cheers!

Hi, guys! After a whirl-wind move--we have landed in Whispering Pines, North Carolina.

I am trying to wrap up my students' last few classes and getting settled in to this beautiful new area, (okay, fine--so the area I haven't seen so much of...just the insides of boxes...).

We're all very anxious for my guy to come back from overseas and get acquainted with our new home.

My main studio desk doesn't fit in it's new area...so some serious elbow-grease is needed to get that thing in there. I found my supplies and paper and can't WAIT for things to calm down so I can get some time for sketching that beautiful lake outside.

We just had an amazing little storm come through--and the overload of water is captured over the bulkhead in one of my recent uploads called, "Perfect". After all that rain and concern over damage, this scene emerged afterward. Just beautiful.

Hope everyone is doing great!
Cheers!

I am currently working with Picasso Home Art School as an art teacher. How wonderful it is to be teaching again!

All of their teachers are certified and background checked--making not only the comfort of learning in your own home fantastic, but the peace of mind that you'll be receiving professional instruction.

I teach from the methods taught in Learning to Draw On The Right Hand Side of the Brain. This approach makes learning to draw and 'see' simplistic and easily allows anyone to draw, well, anything.

Feel free to check out the school's web page at Picassohomeartschool.com.

I am currently teaching in the Fayetteville and surrounding areas.

I look forward to hearing from you!

The event on Ft. Bragg was a huge success! Thank you to all who came and participated in the events--it wouldn't have been the same without you.

It was truly an honor to be a part of the very first event in honor of Women's History Month on Ft. Bragg.

The exhibit was organized in accordance with George. W. Bush's proclamation that March 2008 would be known as Women's History Month. He called upon all our citizens to "observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities that honor the history, accomplishments and contributions of American women".

After all, without the huge impact of the role women play in our society, our country would not be the free and independent nation that it is today.

Still smiling with pride-
