The Pan card is 6' x 12' on gessoed
canvas..The ideas behind this work
are multifold it is part of a group of
works that are being orchestrated
here in West County called the
nouveau tarot we have created all
the major arcana in this style with
a number of local artist of which i
was happy to be included..I was
last to get to choose a card and
thus only two were left the "Lovers
card" and the "Devil " card I took
them both I finished the Lovers
card on 6606 it took four days to
complete it is of the same
dimensions this work took four
days. plus drawing time of 2 so six
days though it is not finished so
there will be more. I hesitated for
some time before deciding what to
do about the Devil card as i think
art has a magical quality to it and
so i concerned myself with how to
make a devil card and not pull it in
after much research into the card
and to the devil I realized that
what this deck needed was a pan
card as the Nouveau movement
was all into nature forms so here is
a bit of my research into the icon
there is also an ophcious aspect to
the creature as well as devil and
trickster energy as pan was the go
between from humans to the gods

Hi Everyone, the amount of positive feedback has really been amazing here since october of 2006 I have had over 24000 hits on my gallery and I am sure I don't get anywhere near the amounts others have been getting. I can't say I can get my art out on the gallery circuit and have so much exposure thanks everyone ..it makes it fun to go thru the process to import more works..
