I took this portrait of me, Laura Cristin (on the right) and Dawn Redwood in the mirror of the Hotel in Minden (Germany) where in August 2009 we were taking part in the Mail Art & Performance Festival "forever friends in Europe" on the occasion of the 250 years from the "Battle of roses". I had enjoyed immensely taking part in the history....with the performance "Blue Angela" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGmVH50u30. A set of ACEO cards followed (http://www.artcardswanted.com/card.cfm?ID=16182) as a sort of visual poetry of the whole experience.

I have made this poster to celebrate the days around 15June2009 (when currently the party took place in Ravenna, Italy) as a RE(=King)wind of birthdays of Matteo, Vincenzo, Elisa, Laura C. and Laura Maria. The 5 of us were all born in May-June under the sign of Gemini and had a party for our 282 years altogether. On the following day, at the sunrise, Laura Maria (photographer) and me (performer) had continued on the beach of Punta Marina with the performance "Welcome to the Sun".

the image represents the poster for my performance "Herzkunst inmitten Europas" (photo by Laura Maria Mino, art Alice Paviotti, 3 ensigns cm 65x70, mixed media, 2008-2009 by Laura Cristin). Laura Cristin starts her professional year 2009 travelling to the heART of Europe, from Italy to Germany. To be precise, she will be in Euskirchen from February 14th to March 6th, guest of Fzkke association, run by Ruediger Abshalom Westphal, around the Time of Carnival (FastLOVEnd there) that also marks the beginning of Tibetan New Year, for an open project of Herzkunst around/in the land of Cologne. She will spend the late Winter as Sheren, in the places where Romans first came, Beethoven was born and Lorelei still astonishes with her enchantments sailors on the river Rhein. It is another step of her recording by heART that started in Ireland in July 2008 during the art residency there, when visions-actions-sounds gathered from the past in various places while travelling around the world, were revisited next to the Ocean and in the Myths callings. -Very soon all that recording took shape almost by itself in various forms of DivinAtions: paintings, performances, concepts, ideas, suggestions that came out, revealed them to me that I could play and act my art practice in different roles, being an happy subject, object or contributor in the flowing of Time. In this dynamic mode I could enjoy with equal satisfaction a main part, for instance while painting the 3 ensigns that were started in Ireland and finished in Italy or while performing a Sheren piece, as well as so called minor roles. It was/is a beautiful discovery that I can develop my art better even and just because being at disposal of somebody else with similar attitudes. It happened when I completed mezzo soprano Dorothea Faynes action in Venice Carnival 2008, when I let my body, mind and soul be the voice of Dario Della Rossas Music (in almost all my/our performances), when I was the Siren model for the photographer Laura Maria Mino or while contributing to Mirko Onofrios concert Re-visioni di Francesco Landini as body artist in the duet with jazz player Eugenio Colombo in S. Severina Festival, in Calabria (August 2008). Practising in/with Herz-Cuore-Love-Corazón is rewarding for the simple fact that one acts in the common human wave of giving-receiving that does not require particular explanation or a special language to be understood. With this attitude I turn to my Herzkunst inmitten Europas, filling my luggage as emigrant-artist with facts, things and recallings that are not memories because they are still alive and ready to grow in fruitful lands-. Sheren's installation for Tino Sangiglio by Laura Cristin

I have made this installation in the Town Council room of Turriaco (Gorizia) Italy, for the exhibition Pittori dellanima (December 4-21, 2008) as one of the artists selected by Tino Sangiglio from his book "Painters of the soul" (edited in 2007 by Istituto Giuliano di Storia e Documentazione). In the installation one of the bust ("Dio c'è?") that I have painted in the Nineties faces the SHEren's costume that I had used in the first performances and both hold a dialogue with the exterior through the window, the veil "AIRMAIL", the "Sherensign p.2" (2005) on the right, the "Traveling Sherensign AMO" (2006) coming from emotions gathered in the latest performances. Everything is made even more interactive through the Music by Dario Della Rossa coming from a CDplayer-fish in the middle as the heart of the installation. Tino Sangiglio, former visiting professor of greek poetry at the University of Triest and founder in 2001 of the Contemporary Art Archive of Turriaco died last Summer, so the exhibition is a tribute to him and his precious work.

I have made this work for the International Exhibition of Arte Correo y Electronico "Matenme por que me Muero" held by Arte Correo of Mexico for the 60th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Human Rights. The works received will be shown in various schools of Mexico, starting from 10 December 2008.

It is a card for my next performance in Germany:A MAil train im Zug der Zeit Performance of Laura Cristin in the music by Dario Della Rossa. International Mail Art & Performance Festival Minden (Germany) 12-14 December 2008 With the art action A MAil train im Zug der Zeit Laura Cristin rewinds the memories of her latest travelling by train that brought her, at the end of August in the South of Italy, to perform in a Castle, looking at Ionio Sea, while Dario Della Rossa was composing/playing at the piano Santa Severina. Once again it is a Divin@tion, flowing now together with the previous Sherena+Da poetic (from the encounter of the art identity of Sheren with the music by Dario), acted this Time in an authentic 100 yrs old Prussian Train. It is an involving dance/action that comes from the heART and bring us to discover the power of Love and the little of Divine that anybody owns. A MAil train in the end, is a suggestion to get on in the Time of our lifes travel, paying attention to all the good and the authentic one can find across the way.

I have taken this photo of the painting "Dancing around Ballinskelligs Castle (feeling like a little grain of sand and/or a drop of water in the OCEAN)", cm 38x40, 2008, thinking of a similar piece that I have painted and left in Ireland to support the restoration fund of B. Castle that just because the heavy house building along the coast is going to be badly damaged by the rising of the tides (being on an isle that can be reached only when the ocean is at low tide).
