Spending the day in Carlsbad California? New Upcoming show: I will be showing at the Carlsbad Flower Fields during April 19-20, 2008 in their Arts & Crafts Fair, and hopefully you can come and also see me doing demos of my wood burning. I will be showing my Gourds, Ceramic work, and some photography. Admission allows you to enter the arts and crafts fair but also allows you to view the 50-plus acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus, roses in the All American Rose Garden, and the famous Ecke poinsettias. There are also tractor rides and a ton of things for young kids to do. The cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children. Also something that is right above the flower fields on the top of the hill is the museum of making music. Just an update for those worried about the fires in San Diego, Vista is in a pocket between the fires. It got within 5 or so miles from us but the wind changed direction before it got close. My nieghbor has three families that lost their homes living with them, all relatives that lived in Ramona. We were very lucky all we have had to worry about is smoke and the thick layer of ash that has covered everything. If you want to help the best you can due is donate money to the red cross or salvation army at: http://american.redcross.org/site/pageserver?pagename=ntld_main Due to sharks like Farmers and Allstate insurance fire victums from the Scrips Ranch fires years ago still have not recieved money for their homes. They even forced people to guess how many pairs of underwhere and bras they owned before the fire; sick. One guy on the news showed his empty lot where his home used to be and that his insurance company was still battling him on paying up. It will take a long while for San Diego to fully recover., but we had a sign of hope today, with huge gaps in the smoke of pure blue sky. Quite a welcomed site! Dear Vanessa Hutchinson fans, Apparently there has been some confusion as to who I am, I have gotten calls from little girls asking for Vanessa Hutchinson, and have actually recieved some hate mail directed at her. Please if you found my website by typing in Vanessa Hughes browse through my site and you will find pictures of me scatterd around and see that I am not her, but stop calling me, and stop emailing me...Brittany; that means you to! For those who don't know who Vanessa Hutchinson is, join the club, I only found out the other week when I started getting a ton of phone calls from all these little girls. Apparently this girl is one of the actors on High School musical, and she had some confusion with her name awhile ago, one of those mistaken names was Vanessa Hughes. So if you type in my name on google now you will find a bunch of these fan site, and right below all those is my website.
